Veoh Adds Horror Films & Related Content from FEARnet

San Diego - Video-sharing site Veoh Networks announced on Thursday that it will add content from FEARnet, a horror and thriller website and video-on-demand joint venture between Comcast, Lionsgate and Sony Pictures. The companies will share advertising revenue generated from a FEARnet channel on Veoh slated to launch next month, which will offer feature films, celebrity interviews and coverage from top horror conventions. FEARnet is also developing a slate of new original programming for 2008 that will be featured on Veoh.

Horror Director Sam Raimi Creates Web Series for FEARnet

Los Angeles - Horror film director Sam Raimi ("Evil Dead," "Army of Darkness"), who also recently helmed the "Spider-Man" movies, has signed on to create short-form content for horror website FEARnet, the Associated Press reported. FEARnet, a joint venture between Comcast, Sony Pictures Television and Lionsgate, this week began airing the first series from Raimi's Ghost House Pictures, "Devil's Trade."

Comcast to Launch FearNet VOD, Web Movie Service on Halloween

Philadelphia - Comcast, the nation's largest cable TV provider, is set to launch its FearNet horror film video-on-demand service and companion website on Oct. 31. The video-on-demand service will feature limited ads and a library of 200 films from Sony, MGM and Lionsgate. Comcast plans to market the service to other providers. The FearNet website will feature a selection of streaming full-length films, as well as trailers and other short-form content.
