Harmonix's "Rock Band" to Feature Fender, Roland, BOSS Equipment

Cambridge, Mass. - Video game developer Harmonix, creator of the "Guitar Hero" franchise and a unit of MTV Networks, on Tuesday announced that Fender Musical Instruments, the electric guitar and amplifier maker, will have its instruments exclusively featured in the upcoming Harmonix title, "Rock Band." In addition, Roland Corp. and BOSS have entered into agreements to have their brands featured within "Rock Band." The game is slated for release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 system in the fall.

Video game publisher Take-Two Interactive said on Tuesday that its founder and former Chairman and CEO Ryan Brant resigned after being on disability leave since June. Brant had been employed in a non-executive capacity as Vice President of Production when he stepped down on Oct. 16, the comapny said in a regulatory filing. Brant founded the company, best known for the controversial and best-selling "Grand Theft Auto" game from its Rockstar Games studio, in 1993. Brant was CEO until February 2001 and chairman until March 2004.
