Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts on Friday announced that it will release "FIFA 07" in North America on Oct. 3. Developed by EA Canada, the game will be offered for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, DS, Game Boy Advanced, PSP, the PC and mobile phones. Separately, EA announced plans to publish "Medal of Honor: Heroes" for the Sony PSP, its first title from the franchise for the handheld. Developed by EA Canada in conjunction with EA Los Angeles, the game is slated to ship in the fall of 2006.

Sunnyvale, Calif. - With the final draw for the event scheduled for Friday, Yahoo said that it has teamed with FIFA, the world governing body of soccer, to re-launch FIFAworldcup.com, the official site of the 2006 World Cup in Germany. The site will provide coverage of both Friday's draw and the tournament's 64 matches, as well as vintage video highlights and information about Germany and the specific host cities. In addition, the site this week added three new language versions this week -- Portuguese, Italian and Korean -- and is now available in a total of seven languages. In 2001, Yahoo and FIFA entered into an exclusive, multi-year deal to jointly produce, market and operate the official World Cup web site. The deal also included the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.

Leipzig, Germany -- Microsoft and game developer Electronic Arts announced on Thursday that they have partnered with international soccer federation FIFA to develop a "World Cup" video game tournament for players of Electronic Arts' "FIFA Football 2005" for the Xbox. The FIFA Interactive World Cup will be comprised of a three-month tournament featuring both offline and online play on six continents, with the finals to be played in Zurich in December. Microsoft also announced that it will serve as the officially licensed video game console of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Germany.
