It started with a simple email from Peter. An invitation to contribute some thoughts to a collaborative blog post talking about the future. It's a good topic on this 15th day of the last month of the year, a mere two weeks until we welcome 2009. Which may explain why when Peter Kim from Forrester Research sent his email, 13 other highly popular bloggers and (dare I say) social media "personalities" took him up on his offer and each contributed a some thoughts to a single collaborative post.

Hampshire, U.K. - Worldwide mobile music revenues will reach $14 billion in 2011, according to a report from U.K.-based Juniper Research. The Asia Pacific region is expected to account for 40% of the market, while Europe will represent 27%, North America 18%, and the rest of the world 15% of the market.

Report: Blue Laser Market to Generate $28 Billion in Sales in 2010

Santa Clara, Calif. - Devices utilizing new blue laser technology, including HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD players and disc drives, and the PlayStation 3, are expected to generate $28 billion in sales in 2010, according to a report from Santa Clara Consulting Group (SCGG).

Sirius Satellite Radio Reaffirms 2006 Subscriber Forecast

New York - Sirius Satellite Radio, a subscription radio service with 4.1 million subscribers, has reaffirmed that it expects to count 6.2 million subscribers by the end of the year, just hours after rival XM Satellite Radio lowered its 2006 subscriber forecast to 8.5 million from 9 million.
