"Flick Fishing" First iPhone Game to Hit 1M Paid Downloads

New York - Freeverse, a developer of iPhone (NASD: AAPL) games, announced on Tuesday that its "Flick Fishing" game has become the first paid application in Apple's App Store to reach one million downloads. The 99-cent game lets users fish virtually by snapping their wrists, utilizing the device's accelerometer.

New York - Over 300 media executives have gathered at the NY Games Conference going on today and tomorrow to network, do deals, and share ideas about the future of console, PC, online and mobile games. Highlights from Day 1 included a passionate debate about the future of the game console featuring Alex St. John, CEO & Co-Founder of WildTangent, Justin Townsend, CEO & Co-Founder of IGA WorldWide, John Welch, CEO, Playfirst, Robert Stevenson, VP, Bus Dev & WW Publishing of Atari Group and moderated by Mike Vorhaus, President, Magid Advisors. It was followed by, among other sessions, a panel of teen gamers sponsored by TeenEyes and a keynote on developing iPhone games by Justin Ficarrotta, Game Designer and Programmer, Freeverse.
