Silver Spring, Md. - Freewebs, a developer of website creation and management tools, said on Monday that it has launched a test version of its Paggi social publishing network, allowing users to more easily create social networking pages. Tools allows users to insert photos, sounds and videos from anywhere on the web, as well as manipulate images, insert pre-loaded backgrounds and collaborate with friends.

Freewebs Adds Reverb Nation Music Player Widget

Silver Spring, Md. - Freewebs, a service that lets users create multimedia websites and blogs, said on Monday that it has partnered with artist-focused music community ReverbNation to allow users to add a custom music player to their websites. Under the deal, Freewebs users are now able to add the company's music player widget, which draws on more than 50,000 tracks from over 14,000 artists that have created profiles at ReverbNation.com.

Silver Spring, Md. - Freewebs, a service that lets users create multimedia websites and blogs, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with wireless carrier Cingular, to create and promote a widget-based ad campaign. The campaign for Cingular Sounds -- ringtones that promote emerging artists -- on Freewebs allows users to write new lyrics, dance and sing along with up-and-coming artists through multimedia widgets that include text, photos, audio and video.

Site Builder Freewebs Adds Direct Support for Photobucket Media

Silver Spring, Md. - Freewebs, a site that allows users to create multimedia websites and blogs, said that it has partnered with Photobucket, a site that allows people to upload videos, images and graphic art and link it to websites. Under the agreement, Maryland-based Freewebs' users will be able to add photos, slideshows, videos and remix videos from existing Photobucket accounts directly to Freewebs' publishing platform.

Vantrix Corporation, a provider of mobile media services, has announced that Manish Jha, a veteran mobile media executive, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Jha was most recently Senior Vice President and General Manager of ESPN Mobile, ending a tenure at ESPN that had begun in 1991.

Silver Spring, Md. - Freewebs, an advertising-supported company that allows users to build their own websites, has completed its first round of venture capital, with backing from Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Columbia Capital. VentureWire reported that the company raised $11 million in the round.
