HD Images Vendor GalleryPlayer Shuts Down

Seattle - GalleryPlayer, a provider of high-resolution artwork and other images for display on HD televisions, shut down its service at the end of last month, the Seattle P-I reports. The company, which was founded in 2003 and had raised about $10 million in venture capital, provided its service directly to HDTV makers Panasonic, Samsung and Mitsubishi, the latter of which announced on Wednesday that GalleryPlayer function incorporated on some of its HDTV models will no longer function as advertised.

HD Image Distributor GalleryPlayer Gets $2.5 Million

Seattle - GalleryPlayer, a provider of high-resolution images for display on HD televisions, has raised $2.5 million of an expected $7.79 million third round of venture capital financing, PEHub.com reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Panasonic Launches HD Image Gallery for HDTVs

Seacaucus, N.J. - Panasonic Direct, a unit of Japan's Matsushita, on Thursday announced the launch of a Web-based service that lets owners of Panasonic HDTV sets download fine art and other images to display on their televisions.
