"Portal," "BioShock" Win Big at Game Developers Choice Awards

San Francisco - Video game publisher and developer Valve's "Portal" took home the title of Game of the Year last night at the Game Developers Choice Awards, held during the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

San Francisco - CMP on Wednesday announced the list of finalists for its eighth annual Game Developers Choice Awards, with Valve's "Portal" and 2K Game's "BioShock" each grabbing five nominations each. Other titles receiving multiple nominations included Infinity Ward's "Call of Duty 4," Harmonix's "Rock Band" and Nintendo's "Super Mario Galaxy." Winners will be announced during the 2008 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco on Feb. 20. A full list of finalists is available from a link below.

"Gears of War" Takes Top Honor at Game Developers Choice Awards

San Francisco - Developer Epic Games and Microsoft Game Studios' "Gears of War" Xbox 360 shooter game took home the honor of Best Game at the 7th annual Game Developers Choice Awards, presented by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) as part of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week.
