AirPlay Develops Interactive TV Game for "Deal or No Deal"

San Francisco - AirPlay, a provider of interactive TV game technologies, this week announced a deal with TV producer Endemol USA, to launch a mobile phone-based interactive TV element for NBC's "Deal or No Deal." The "Deal or No Deal: Live TV Challenge" game, set to launch in January on most mobile networks, will let viewers play along and answer questions in real-time, with the chance to win prizes and chat with other viewers.

San Francisco - AirPlay, a developer of interactive TV games for mobile phones, announced on Tuesday that it has secured $14 million in its second round of venture capital financing. Participating in the round were Qualcomm, Motorola, JK&B Capital, Onset Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. Founded in 2004, San Francisco-based AirPlay develops games that let viewers play along with live TV programs from their mobile phones. Its applications include Emmys AirPlay Live from Sprint, which allowed viewers to predict winners and losers, view commentary and answer trivia questions during the awards broadcast. The company will use the funds to implement its plan to offer AirPlayTV events include game and award shows, sports and reality TV programming this year.

Las Vegas - AirPlay Network, a developer of real-time, multiplayer mobile games that let viewers play along with live television, announced on Tuesday that Sprint will offer its AirPlay TV application in September. AirPlay TV will let mobile phone players choose winners and losers in reality television shows, compete against contestants in game shows and predict plays while watching live sporting events. Sprint will initially offer the company's AirPlay Sports games with the start of the new pro and college football seasons in the fall.

Monterey, Calif. - AirPlay, a company developing TV game shows where viewers participate with their mobile phones, announced on Monday that it has raised $4 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from Redpoint Ventures and Qualcomm. AirPlay TV, slated to launch in the fall, will allow mobile phone users to play along with live broadcasts: choosing winners and losers in reality TV shows; competing against contestants on game shows; and predicting plays in football games and other sporting events.
