Waltham, Mass. - GameLogic, a provider of Internet-based gaming entertainment platforms designed to help casinos and lotteries boost revenues, has raised $18.6 million in its second round of venture capital, led by Bain Capital Ventures. Founded in 2002, GameLogic offers regulatory-compliant Internet gambling platforms like PlayAway, where casino visitors can purchase wagering "tickets" within the casino, play Internet-based gaming in surrounding areas, and return to the casino to collect winnings. The company's HomePlay functions in a similar way with state lotteries, where wagers and collections take place through a licensed lottery organization. Last November, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission approved the company's platform after a formal review by the State's Division of Gaming Enforcement. GameLogic said that it expects to launch the product in New Jersey during the second quarter of this year.
