Stamford, Conn. - Worldwide revenue from mobile games is set to reach $4.3 billion this year, up 50% from 2006, and is projected to reach $9.6 billion in 2011, according to a report from market research group Gartner.

Market Research Firm Gartner Prices Stock Offering to Raise $140 Million

Stamford, Conn. - Gartner, a technology market research firm, has priced a secondary offering of 9.5 million shares of stock at $14.75 million a share to raise a total of about $140 million. All of the shares are being sold by Silver Lake Partners, a New York-based private equity firm that is Gartner's largest shareholder, which owns a 33% stake in the company. Silver Lake remains the company's largest shareholder after the current sale.

META Group Shareholders Approve Acquisition by Gartner

Stamford, Conn. -- META Group, a provider of IT research and advisory services, announced that its shareholders have approved the proposed acquisition of the company by Gartner Inc., a technology market research firm, for $10 a share. The deal is still subject to certain other customer conditions. It is expected to close in April.

IT Research Firm Gartner Buys Rival Meta Group for $162 Million

Stamford, Conn. -- Gartner, a provider of market research and analysis for the information technology industry, announced that it has acquired Meta Group, a smaller rival in the market, for $162 million in cash. Gartner, which claims 10,000 clients for its research and analysis products, generated $858 million in revenue in 2003, while Meta Group generated $122 million. Connecticut-based Gartner said the acquisition will expand its client list and add a sales team that is already familiar with its product and service offerings.
