Washington - XM Satellite Radio, a provider of satellite radio service to nearly 6.9 million subscribers, said on Tuesday that it plans to launch its satellite traffic information service, in 13 more U.S. markets during the third quarter. The new markets, including the Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Newport News area, increase the service's coverage area to 44 markets. XM's NavTraffic service, which costs a $3.99 a month when packaged with XM's $12.95 standard subscription, delivers real-time traffic information to vehicle navigation systems. Drivers see current traffic conditions on a screen, such as traffic speeds, accident locations and road closings.
