Glam Media to Launch New Web Networks for Hip-Hop, Families

New York - Glam Media, a group of vertical content and advertising networks targeting women, on Thursday announced that it has partnered with Russell Simmons-backed hip-hop social network Global Grind, to launch a new vertical network of sites and blogs targeting the hip-hop community. Earlier this week, the company announced the launch of another new vertical content network, Glam Family, to be headed by former SheKnows.com president and CEO Mike Meyers. Glam Family will launch in the third quarter, and focus on parenting, pregnancy and baby-related content.

Global Grind Debuts Online Hip-Hop Community

New York - Global Grind on Wednesday introduced its online hip-hop community site, which has received backing from Accel Partners and hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons. The site lets users create personalized pages, add pre-built content tabs and import content from other sites, and read hip-hop-related news and information from more than 1,000 sources.

Hip-Hop Homepage Developer GGDigital Gets $3.5 Million

New York - GGDigital Inc., a company developing a personalized home page for hip-hop fans, has raised $3.5 million of an expected $4.5 million new round of financing, led by Accel Partners, PEHub.com reported.
