GM to Build Over 1.8 Million Vehicles with XM Satellite Radio in '07

Washington - XM Satellite Radio, a provider of satellite radio service to more than 7 million subscribers, said on Tuesday that automaker General Motors plans to build over 1.8 million vehicles with factory-installed XM radios next year.

GM to Raise XM Radio-Equipped Car Shipments to 1.55 Million in 2006

Detroit - General Motors announced on Wednesday that it plans to ship 1.55 million vehicles with factory-installed XM Satellite Radio receivers in 2006. The company added that for model-year 2006, nearly 90% of GM's models will offer factory-installed XM as either standard equipment or as an option. GM shipped 1.4 million XM-equipped vehicles in 2005 and 1.17 million in 2004.

GM to Expand XM Satellite Radio to 44 Models

Washington, D.C. -- Auto manufacturer General Motors has announced that it plans to offer XM Satellite Radio, a national satellite-delivered digital radio service, in 44 of its 57 models beginning in the 2004 model year. GM currently offers the radios in 25 of its models. The company became the first automaker to offer XM as a factory-installed option in 2002 Cadillac DeVilles and Sevilles. Washington-based XM charges $9.99 a month for 101 national digital channels.
