New York
- Take-Two Interactive (NASD: TTWO) announced on Wednesday that its "Grand Theft Auto
IV" broke all-time day one and week one sales records, posting 3.6 million
global unit sales on April 29, with a retail value of $310 million, and 6
million in sales for its first week, with an estimated retail value of more
than $500 million. "Grand Theft Auto IV's first week performance
represents the largest launch in the history of interactive entertainment, and
we believe these retail sales levels surpass any movie or music launch to
date," said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick.
