Korea's Gravity Licenses "Emil Chronicle Online" Game in China

Seoul, South Korea - Korean online game developer and publisher Gravity announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with China's The9, to license its massively multiplayer game "Emil Chronicle Online" for play in mainland China. Gravity also recently signed an agreement with Infocomm Asia Holdings, to license the game in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Gravity expects total revenue from "Emil Chronicle Online" in the territories to amount to over $6.8 million over the terms of the agreements.

Korean Online Game Developer Gravity Signs Asia Distribution Deals

Seoul, South Korea - Korean online game developer and publisher Gravity announced on Wednesday that it has signed agreements to distribute its "Ragnarok Online 2" massively multiplayer online title in China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. Gravity said the deals, reached with a subsidiary of The9 in China and Gamania Digital Entertainment in the other territories, will generate at least $31.5 million for the term of the contracts.

Korean Online Game Developer Gravity Buys Stake in Trigger Soft

Seoul, Korea -- Korean online game developer Gravity, distributor of the popular "Ragnarok Online," announced on Tuesday that it has acquired a 75% stake in Korean developer Trigger Soft for $1.35 million. Trigger Soft is the developer of "R.O.S.E. Online," another title that Gravity distributes. Separately, Gravity announced that it has signed an agreement with Soft World International to distribute "Ragnarok Online" in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, and another deal with Level Up to distribute the game online in Brazil. Gravity also partnered with Gung Ho Online to distribute seven mobile versions of "Ragnarok" in Japan, which include the ability for items acquired playing the mobile versions to transfer to a player's online game account.
