Comcast Promoting Green Day Record With HD Videos

Philadelphia - Cable TV and broadband provider Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) announced on Wednesday that it is helping promote Green Day's forthcoming album by offering advance access to live performances of tracks off the new record on-demand. Ten live songs from a recent concert recorded in HD, as well as more than 30 of the band's videos and concerts, will be made available on Comcast's website. The company also produced a TV ad featuring the band performing the first single off the record.

Rhapsody Inks Promotion Deal for New Green Day Album

Seattle - RealNetworks (NASD: RNWK) said on Thursday that its Rhapsody digital music service has partnered with rock band Green Day to promote its upcoming album, "21st Century Breakdown." The deal will see Rhapsody get a stream of the entire album a week before its May 15 release, in addition to exclusive tracks for Rhapsody subscribers, and a Green Day-themed Rhapsody TV ad campaign that will run across Rhapsody partner MTV Networks' (NYSE: VIA) channels.
