GSN to Premiere Interactive TV Show "Bingo America"

Santa Monica, Calif. - GSN, a cable TV network joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Liberty Media, on Thursday announced plans for "Bingo America," a new interactive TV trivia and game show slated to premiere on March 31. Viewers will be able to download free bingo cards online and play along with on-air contestants, answering trivia questions in return for bingo letters. An instant win Bonus Game at the end of the show will also let users receive bonus numbers via text messaging on their cell phones.

Veoh Networks, an internet television company, today announced that Steve Mitgang has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Mitgang comes to Veoh from Yahoo!, where he was Senior Vice President of the global team. He succeeds Veoh’s founding CEO Dmitry Shapiro, who will now assume the role of Founder and Chief Innovation Officer with active involvement in the business and a focus on advancing Veoh’s technology platforms and consumer standards. Dmitry will continue to represent the company’s thought leadership within the industry.  Veoh has also named Jennifer Betka as Senior Vice President of Marketing. Betka joins Veoh from Sirius Satellite Radio.

Analysis: GSN Needs To Play Its Own Game Of High Stakes Poker

GSN President and CEO Rich Cronin said Tuesday that he is departing the network at the end of the month, but did not give a reason why. While Cronin under his six years with the network led a team that pioneered interactive television games and expanded its distribution from 31 million to 64 million homes, the channel still suffers from a bit of an identity crises.

Santa Monica, Calif. - GSN, the game show network jointly owned by Liberty Media and Sony Pictures Entertainment, on Monday debuted "The Prison Life: Paris," an online game that "gives players a sneak-peek of the heiress' potential new job behind bars."

Sony Corporation of America, a joint venture between Sony and trusts formed by Michael Jackson, announced today that Martin Bandier has been named Chairman and CEO, Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC. Mr. Bandier will also make an investment in Sony/ATV.

It is currently all being fueled by Internet gambling, either directly or indirectly. The British magazine Gambling.com just landed former Esquire Senior Designer Stuart Tolley as Art Director. The September/October issue features Hollywood actor Eric Bana in his first interview, since filming completed of the poker movie, Lucky You (opens March 13, 2007). In the movie, Bana plays a pro poker player pitted against his estranged father, played by Robert Duvall.

GSN to Televise FUN Technologies' Casual Games Tournament

Los Angeles - Casual online game publisher FUN Technologies announced on Monday that it partnered with Comcast's GSN cable TV network to televise its first annual million-dollar Worldwide Web Games championship. The online games will be hosted by SkillJam.com and WorldWinner.com, while the championship will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.

AOL, GSN to Create "World Series of Blackjack" Site on AOL

New York - America Online said on Thursday that it has partnered with GSN, the Liberty Media and Sony-owned game show TV channel, to create a new blackjack area on AOL.com. Launching in April, the "World Series of Blackjack" area on AOL will feature free blackjack games and other online and interactive TV titles from GSN, in addition to streaming video from GSN's "World Series of Blackjack" TV series.
