London - Activision's (NASD: ATVI) "Guitar Hero: World Tour" sold 3.4 million copies in the U.S. last year, or twice as many as MTV Networks' (NYSE: VIA) "Rock Band 2," which moved 1.7 million units, GameSpot reported, citing new data from market research firm NPD Group. The report notes that "Rock Band 2" did not become available for the PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii until shortly before the holidays.

Santa Monica, Calif. - Video game publisher Activision (NASD: ATVI) on Monday shipped its "Guitar Hero: World Tour" for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2. This version of the game includes new controllers for guitar, drums and microphone and an 86-song on-disc set list.
