Electronic Arts, Valve Detail Release Plans for "Half-Life 2" Expansion

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts on Wednesday announced release plans for the next installment of developer Valve's "Half-Life" game franchise. "The Black Box" will ship for PC, and include "Half-Life 2: Episode 2," "Portal" and "Team Fortress 2". A separate bundle, "The Orange Box," will ship for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and include all of the elements of The Black Box, plus the original "Half-Life 2" and "Half-Life 2: Episode One." Both bundles are scheduled for release in the fall of 2007.

CNET's GameSpot Names Most Wanted Games of 2007

San Francisco - CNET Networks' GameSpot on Monday announced its editors' picks for the Most Wanted Games of 2007, which include anticipated franchise favorites like "Halo 3," "Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" and "Half-Life 2: Episode Two." Other titles making GameSpot's list were "BioShock" (2K Games); "Crackdown" (Microsoft Game Studios); "God of War II" (SCEA); "Spore" (Electronic Arts); and "Super Mario Galaxy" (Nintendo). Verizon to Host $100,000 Video Game Tournament for Women

New York - Verizon announced on Thursday that it has partnered with PMS Clan (Pandora's Mighty Soldiers), an all-female competitive online video game league, to launch the $100,000 Verizon FiOS Grand Tournament.

Vivendi Delays "Half-Life 2" Game; Still Expects Holiday Release

Los Angeles -- Vivendi Universal Games said on Friday that Bellevue, Wash.-based game developer Valve Software's highly-anticipated game, "Half-Life 2," will not come out on Tuesday as originally announced. However, Valve said it still expects the game -- one of the most popular attractions at the E3 video game convention in May -- to be released in stores during the holiday shopping season.
