Handleman Company, a distributor of prerecorded music and console video game hardware, software and accessories, today announced that Robert E. Kirby has joined the company as its President and Chief Operating Officer. For the past seven years Kirby has worked for Johnson & Johnson, where his most recent position was President of Personal Products Company. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Kirby worked at Fort James Corporation, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Proctor & Gamble Company.

Troy, Mich. - The Handleman Company, one of the largest distributors of music and video game hardware and software to retailers in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., announced on Thursday that president and COO John Beeder has resigned.
