Samsung, Handmark to Fund Mobile Game Development

Kansas City, Mo. - Handmark, a distributor of mobile applications and services, announced on Tuesday that Korea's Samsung Electronics has launched a new Global Venture Fund, which will invest in companies and individuals "with innovative, market-changing game ideas for next generation Samsung mobile phones."

Handmark to Distribute Social.FM Mobile Playlist-sharing Service

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Social.FM, a social music service for mobile and Web users that allows sharing of streaming music playlists, on Monday announced a partnership with mobile media distributor Handmark. Under the deal, Handmark will market and deliver Social.FM through its channels in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Zagat, Handmark Publish BlackBerry Restaurant Guide

New York - Zagat, the publisher of local restaurant and nightlife guides, announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with mobile content distributor Handmark to launch Zagat To Go, a mobile version of its guides for BlackBerry users. Available for $24.95 per year, the service will offer listings for 24,000 spots in 71 cities, in addition to street-level maps and driving directions to desired destinations.

Gemstar, Handmark Launch TV Guide Mobile

Los Angeles - Gemstar-TV Guide International, a developer of electronic program guides and the publisher of TV Guide magazine, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with mobile media publisher Handmark to launch TV Guide Mobile, a TV listings service for Palm handhelds, Treo smartphones and Windows Mobile-based pocket PCs and smartphones. After a two-week free trial, the service is available for $6.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
