Survey: TV Viewers Want More Interactivity

Portland, Ore. - More than seven out of ten TV viewers polled in a recent survey said they use their remote controls for simple interactive tasks -- like navigating electronic program guides or scheduling recordings -- and a majority of these also showed interest in increased interactivity for reality shows, sports and even commercials.

Rochester, N.Y. - Harris Interactive, an online market research firm, on Thursday announced that it has acquired two market research firms, one in Canada and one in Asia.

Rochester, N.Y. - Some 35% of adult cell phone users are willing to accept incentive-based advertisements on their phones, according to a survey conducted by market research firm Harris Interactive.

Rochester, N.Y. - A third of frequent visitors to the YouTube video-sharing site say they watch less TV as a result of their online video habit, according to a recent survey conducted by Harris Interactive. Forty-two percent of U.S. online adults say they have watched a video on YouTube, with 14% saying they visit the site frequently. Of these, 32% said they are watching less TV as a result of the time they spend on the site.
