Vanessa Hudgens Officially on for 'High School Musical 3'

Hudgens is back for HSM 3Recent rumors suggested otherwise, but according to People, Vanessa Hudgens will return for Disney’s High School Musical 3, with a “substantial raise,” as was reported several weeks ago when word of her return surfaced.  "I am so very excited," she told People. "To do a third one for the big screen, I can't begin to think how much fun we'll have."  The controversy surrounding Hudgens this summer centered on a nude photo which she apparently had taken and emailed.

Getting a nude photo from Vanessa Hudgens would be traumatic!Recent rumors suggested otherwise, but according to a source close to to the deal, Vanessa Hudgens will return for Disney’s High School Musical 3, with a “substantial raise.”  “Vanessa is locked for the movie,” the source told Us Magazine. “She is very happy that the deal is done.” The controversy surrounding Hudgens centered on a nude photo which she apparently had taken and emailed.

Want to know what pop culture phenomenon are hot? Go to a Halloween party this year and take a close look at what people are wearing. This year I bet you’ll see a lot of Hannah Montana and Pirate costumes, since they are the most popular “Halloween costume” search terms in the U. S., according to Hitwise, the online competitive intelligence service. A newcomer costume people are looking for online is “Master Chief”, riding on the back of Microsoft Xbox’s  blockbuster videogame “Halo 3”.

Report: Disney Drops Vanessa Hudgens After Nude Pic Scandal

The Vanessa Hudgens nude photos that spread across the Internet like wildfire might be the end of her career at Disney after all. OK! Magazine reports today that the 18-year old actress will not be asked back for the third High School Musical film.  We wondered last month if her days at the company were indeed numbered, which you can read about here.

High School Musical Dominates Over Halo 3 in the Year of the Downloads

Following Friday's post on the top gadgets in the run up to Christmas, today I reveal the most searched for entertainment products. The most noticable trend is the massive increase in searches for entertainment downloads, which currently outstrip searches for CDs by a factor of 27 and DVDs by a factor of 13. Searches for downloads accounted for 35% of searches for entertainment products, almost double the amount for books, and five times more than games.

Disney’s High School Musical franchise tops the list of entertainment products, followed by searches for the Halo 3 and Fifa 2008. Hip hop superstar Kanye West is the most popular musician, receiving over three times as many searches as his rival 50 Cent

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens get their own Magazine

Zach Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are getting their own magazineThe magazine Popstar has announced a special collector’s issue to honor the relationship between High School Musical stars Vanessa Hudgens and Zach Efron, who are together in real life.  The issue will be called Zanessa: The Magazine.  No reports as to how long the issue has been planned, but with recent news of Hudgens’ propensity to take nude photos of herself and email them around town, her future with the family-friendly Disney is still unclear.  The company is actively negotiating contracts for the third installment of High School Musical.

Has Vanessa Hudgens Kissed her Career at Disney Goodbye?The Hollywood Scandal is a concept largely media-driven, and at times unwarranted.  Such is the case when nude celebrity photos are discovered and spread on the internet, along with the gossip and rumors that go along with them.  At times the publicity is the spark that an otherwise unremarkable career needs (see: Paris Hilton and the Night Vision Goggles Scandal – not the name of a children’s book, we now know).  Frequently the pictures are paparazzi creations, taken of supposedly “shocked” celebs at European resorts.  Their importance and relevance in the media quickly fizzles.

Getting a nude photo from Vanessa Hudgens would be traumatic!From obscurity to infamy in a flash, you’d think it would be tough to make a name for yourself the same week of Britney’s VMA “performance,” but Vanessa Hudgens has done just that with the breaking news of a nude photo that had surfaced.  The actress of High School Musical fame acknowledged the photos and apologized for them through a representative who said the nude pic "was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."

Disney Ships First "High School Musical" Video Game

Burbank, Calif. - Disney Interactive Studios on Tuesday announced the release of the first official game based on its hit franchise "High School Musical." "High School Musical: Makin' the Cut" for Nintendo DS features 12 songs from the movie and its sequel, and will allow players to create and trade original music video creations wirelessly with friends on the DS. The company said it will also release "High School Musical: Sing It!" for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii in the fall, a karaoke title that will utilize the Wii microphone.
