San Bruno, Calif. - In its first deal with a major sports league, Google's YouTube video-sharing site on Wednesday announced a partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) to post daily short-form video content for the 2006-2007 season.

VitalStream to Power Video Portal for NHL's LA Kings

Irvine, Calif. - VitalStream, a provider of content delivery network services, announced on Monday that it has partnered with VirtuPoint to power the online video portal for the NHL's Los Angeles Kings. The KingsTV service will offer live events like press conferences and pre- and post-game shows, in addition to interviews with coaches and players.

2K Sports Releases "NHL 2K7" for PS2, Soundtrack for "NBA 2K7"

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, on Tuesday shipped its "NHL 2K7" title for PlayStation 2 to retailers. Separately, the company announced the release of the album soundtrack to its "NBA 2K7" game. Produced by Dan the Automator, the album on Decon Records and distributed by Caroline includes tracks featuring Fabolous, Mos Def and Ghostface.

EA Ships "NHL 07" to Retailers

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday the release of its "NHL 07" title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP and the PC. The game was developed at EA Montreal and EA Canada in Vancouver.

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of Take-Two Interactive, on Tuesday shipped its "NHL 2K7" title for Xbox 360 and Xbox to retailers. The game features 2006 Hart Memorial Trophy winner and San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton on the cover. A PlayStation 2 version is set for release in early October, while a PlayStation 3 version will ship in the fall.

New York - 2K Sports, a unit of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, announced on Wednesday that Sub Pop Records and other labels will provide tracks for its "NHL 2K7." Twelve Sub Pop artists -- including Band of Horses, Hot Hot Heat, Mudhoney, The Postal Service, Sleater-Kinney and The Constantines -- will be featured on the title's in-game soundtrack. 2K Sports' "NHL 2K7" is slated for release in September for Xbox 360, Xbox and PlayStation 2, with a PlayStation 3 version scheduled to ship by the end of the year.
