Newport Beach, Calif. - Video game developer The Collective said this week that it plans to publish "Harker" for next-generation consoles, based on the classic horror novel "Dracula." The game is slated for completion on 2008.

Comcast to Launch FearNet VOD, Web Movie Service on Halloween

Philadelphia - Comcast, the nation's largest cable TV provider, is set to launch its FearNet horror film video-on-demand service and companion website on Oct. 31. The video-on-demand service will feature limited ads and a library of 200 films from Sony, MGM and Lionsgate. Comcast plans to market the service to other providers. The FearNet website will feature a selection of streaming full-length films, as well as trailers and other short-form content.

AOL RED to Sell Exclusive Download of Feature-Length Horror Film "Incubus"

Dulles, Va. - AOL RED, the company's teen destination, announced on Tuesday that it will debut a full-length horror film starring Tara Reid from producer Adam Shapiro on its website on Oct. 31. The "direct-to-download" film "Incubus" will be available for download for 30 days, and can be purchased for $7.99 or rented for a 5-day period for $3.49. DVDs for the film are slated to go on sale after the AOL RED exclusive download offering.

The Horror Channel to Distribute Original Series on NBBC

Guttenberg, N.J. - Broadband video site The Horror Channel announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with NBBC, NBC's new broadband unit, to provide the Horror Channel original series "Shadow Falls" on the free streaming service. The Horror Channel will share in ad revenue generated from its programming on the site. The deal will also provide content from NBC, its affiliates and other NBBC partners to HorrorChannel.com.

Codemasters, Clive Barker Team to Develop Horror Action Game

New York - U.K.-based video game publisher Codemasters announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with horror genre author and filmmaker Clive Barker to develop a horror action title.

Comcast, Sony Pictures to Launch Cable TV Horror Network

Atlanta - Comcast, the nation's largest cable TV provider, announced on Monday a partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to create a new cable TV horror network. The network will offer Sony and MGM horror and thriller films and TV titles, initially on Comcast's video-on-demand service at launch. The companies said the name of the network and other details will be forthcoming, in advance of the network's launch on Oct. 31 (Halloween).
