Hovr Introduces White-Label, Ad-Supported Mobile Game Service

New York - Hovr, a distributor of free, ad-supported mobile games and other content, on Wednesday announced the launch of a new white-label service that will allow consumer websites, mobile portals and wireless carriers to offer their users ad-supported mobile games under their own brands. In addition to free games, the Powered by Hovr service will also offer online and mobile social networking features.

Third Screen Media to Serve Ads in Hovr's Free Mobile Games

Boston - Mobile advertising provider Third Screen Media, a unit of AOL's Advertising.com, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with mobile content provider Hovr. Boston-based Third Screen will sell and serve ads in Hovr's free mobile social game applications.

Hovr logo Vipul Sawhney, Founder and CEO of Hovr, an ad-supported mobile games company, noticed a statistical disparity signaling an opportunity.  “Roughly a third of mobile subscribers say, ‘Yes, I’ve played some sort of game on my mobile phone,’” he said.  “But only about 2-3% of a carrier’s subscriber base actually goes and purchases a game.” Sawhney believes it is the outdated model – not consumer interest – that has caused the mobile games market, currently bringing in just over $1 billion worldwide, to plateau.

Hover Launches Ad-Supported Free Mobile Game Community

New York - Hovr on Monday announced the launch of its service that offers free, ad-supported games for mobile phones. New York-based Hovr is initially offering more than 100 game titles from 15 publishers that include embedded ads, such as "Underground Racer," "Hugo Cannon Cruise" and "Texas Holdem." The company said that it surpassed 200,000 game downloads within weeks of activating its beta site. In addition to downloading games, users can also join Hovr MobileSpace, a social network where players can interact and compete against each other.
