EMI Group, the third largest music company in the world, announced on Thursday that Jason Flom has been promoted to head the newly formed record label, The Capitol Music Group, which is a merger of EMI’s Capitol and Virgin record labels in the U.S., also announced today. Meanwhile, it is still uncertain whether Apple Computer, the keystone company of the Macworld show, which moved from Boston to New York several years ago, will participate in the event.
