Los Angeles - The IMAX Corporation (NASD: IMAX) announced on Monday that
Paramount's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" posted the biggest
opening in IMAX history, with a single-day domestic gross of $3.9 million, and five-day
gross of $14.4 million. The film was available from 169 IMAX screens in the U.S.,
making for a per screen average of over $85,000 during the five-day opening
period. The company said the IMAX release contributed more than 7% of the
film's $201 million total, on less than 2% of the screens showing the picture.

Pictures announced on Thursday that "Superman Returns: An IMAX 3D Experience" -- the first live-action feature to include scenes in the new IMAX 3D format -- broke the IMAX box office opening week record, taking in $6.83 million over the extended fourth of July weekend.

Toronto -- IMAX Corporation, the large-format film exhibitor, announced on Monday that it plans to install 24 IMAX theaters in China by 2008. The company added that it has signed an agreement with Thai Tai Enterprises Co., Ltd., to open an IMAX theater in the city of Shenyang in the fourth quarter of 2007. "We identified China as a market of key strategic significance a number of years ago said IMAX co-CEOs and co-chairmen Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler. "Hundreds of malls and multiplexes are being built across the country, and leading developers like Thai Tai Enterprises are incorporating IMAX theatres into their plans -- as a way to differentiate their sites from all surrounding competitors."

Los Angeles -- In a coup for the financially struggling company, Imax Corp. announced on Thursday that Warner Bros. Pictures/Village Roadshow Pictures will release versions of the anticipated films "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" in the large-screen IMAX format. The IMAX version of "The Matrix Reloaded" will be released shortly after the film's 35mm format release on May 15, while "The Matrix Revolutions" will be released in IMAX format simultaneously with the film's regular theatrical release on Nov. 5. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030423/nyw073_3.html
