San Jose, Calif. - Immersion Corp. (NASD: IMMR), a developer of touch feedback technology used in video game controllers, announced on Wednesday that it has settled outstanding litigation with Microsoft (NASD: MSFT), and will pay the company $20.75 million. Tokyo - Sony Computer Entertainment on Thursday announced plans to introduce a new PlayStation 3 controller that incorporates a rumble feature. The DualShock 3 Wireless Controller is set for release in Japan in November, with North American and European releases to follow in early 2008. The company had included "rumble" force feedback technology on PlayStation 2 controllers, but was later sued for patent infringement on the technology by third-party controller maker Immersion Corp.; Sony settled in March, agreeing to pay over $97.2 million. |
