Dailymotion Employs Video Fingerprinting Copyright Filter

Paris - Video-sharing site Dailymotion announced on Monday that it has implemented digital video fingerprinting copyright filtering technology from INA across its entire site. The system will be used with the site's professionally produced content, as well as user-generated videos uploaded through the company's MotionMaker program. In addition to INA's technology, Dailymotion said it also employs a hashing system, audio fingerprinting, and blocks videos that have already been removed from the site.

DivX to Create Online Store for the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel

San Diego - DivX, a developer of video compression technology and provider of video-on-demand delivery services, announced on Monday that the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA) of France will use DivX technology to create an online store for its holdings of state-owned multimedia. INA plans to distribute thousands of titles from its archive in DivX format.
