Indiagames to Provide Titles for Nokia N-Gage Mobile Game Platform

San Francisco - Nokia announced on Monday that mobile game publisher Indiagames will supply titles for its forthcoming N-Gage mobile game platform. The platform is set to launch later this year for Nokia's Nseries multimedia computers and other Nokia S60 devices.

UrbanWorld Wireless Debuts Indiagames Title Featuring DJ Kid Capri

Los Angeles - Mobile entertainment publisher UrbanWorld Wireless on Thursday released a hip-hop and urban culture trivia game developed by Indiagames that features the music and graphics of DJ Kid Capri. The game consists of 250 questions, and Indiagames has invited players to submit trivia questions for prospective use in future editions. The game is available now for $6.99 purchase or $3.99 for a monthly subscription from Verizon, and will launched by Boost Mobile in October.

Los Angeles - NBC Universal has launched a series of six mobile phone mini-games for its TV comedy series "The Office." Developed and produced by Mumbai-based Indiagames, the mini-games will initially be available to Verizon, Cingular and Sprint subscribers.

Indiagames to Distribute Electronic Arts Mobile Titles in India

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts announced on Wednesday that it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with mobile game publisher Indiagames, giving the company the rights to distribute EA mobile game titles in India. Mumbai-based Indiagames, a unit of TOM Online, will offer mobile EA titles including "Need for Speed Most Wanted," "NBA Live 06," "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06," "FIFA 06," "Madden NFL 06" and "The Sims 2" across multiple Indian wireless networks. Separately, EA said that it has shipped its version of "The Sims 2" for the Sony PSP handheld to retailers.

San Francisco - Indiagames, a mobile game publisher based in India, said on Tuesday that its "Serenity" title, based on the upcoming movie from Universal Pictures, will soon launch for Verizon Wireless subscribers. The game is VibeTonz-enabled for owners of the Samsung n330 phone, providing touch feedback vibrations during gameplay.

Cisco, Macromedia Invest $4 Million in Mobile Game Publisher Indiagames

Hong Kong -- Chinese wireless Internet firm TOM Online announced on Friday that Cisco and Macromedia have made a combined $4 million strategic investment in its mobile game publishing subsidiary, Indiagames. Following the transaction, Cisco and Macromedia will own 18% of Indiagames, while TOM Online's stake in the company will drop from 76% to 62%. Founded in 1999, the India-based company has distribution agreements for its games with over 100 wireless carriers, including Orange, Verizon, Sprint, Singtel, Airtel and Vodafone. As part of the deal, Indiagames will now also publish all of its titles on Macromedia's Flash Lite platform. "We now have Chinese, Indian and American investors, all leaders in their respective verticals," said Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal. "This combination is really very unique and will surely help accelerate our global growth plans, keeping us on the cutting edge of mobile, broadband and Internet technology."

China's TOM Online Pays $17 Million for Stake in Mobile Firm Indiagames

Hong Kong -- Chinese wireless Internet provider TOM Online announced on Friday that it has acquired an 81% stake in mobile game developer Indiagames for $17.7 million. The company purchased shares from Infinity Ventures, IL&FS Investment Managers, and Indiagames' management team -- which will remain intact and retain the remaining 19% stake in the company. Founded in 1999, India-based Indiagames has developed mobile games based on Hollywood properties including "Spider-Man," "Predator," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Jurassic Park" and "The Mummy." The company distributes its games through over 100 mobile operators globally. TOM Online said the deal will establish its presence in the mobile games markets in India and China.
