Intelsat to Broadcast Live Earth Concerts in HD

Los Angeles - Commercial satellite operator Intelsat has announced a partnership with the Live Earth global warming awareness concert series, and will broadcast the concerts in New York, London, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney and Hamburg in both standard and high-definition.

Intelsat to Sell Majority Stake to BC Partners for $4.6 Billion

Washington - British private equity firm BC Partners on Tuesday agreed to acquire a 76% stake in Intelsat, the provider of satellite communications services, in a deal that values the company at $5.03 billion.

Washington - Intelsat, a provider of satellite communications services, said on Monday that it has expanded its deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to distribute the league's games throughout the world. Under the agreement, the NBA's distribution network will now include full-time and upgraded capacity in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Justice Department Clears Intelsat Acquisition of PanAmSat

Washington - Clearing a major regulatory hurdle, Intelsat, the large D.C.-based provider of satellite services, said on Friday that the Justice Department's Antitrust Division has approved its $3.2 billion acquisition of Connecticut-based rival PanAmSat.
