Atlanta - Beyond Media and Intent MediaWorks, two providers of digital media distribution services, announced on Thursday they have merged to form a new venture.

Intent MediaWorks, Revver Ink Web Video-Sharing Deal

Atlanta - Intent MediaWorks, a distributor of licensed media content and advertising on peer-to-peer networks and other platforms, on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with video-sharing site Revver, that will see the companies distribute each other's content online. Revver said it will be the first online video company to distribute user-generated videos on peer-to-peer networks. Intent will create multiple channels on Revver, populated with music videos and other content from artists represented by Violator Management, Nettwerk Music and others. Like others posting on Revver, Intent will receive a share of ad revenue generated by its content.

P2P Media Distributor Intent MediaWorks Raises $10 Million

Atlanta - Intent MediaWorks, a provider of digital media content and advertising distribution technology, announced on Monday that it has raised $10 million in its second round of funding, led by Grecroft Partners, SoftBank Capital, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments and Allen & Co.

Chad and Ryan Steelberg, brothers and founders of radio advertising company dMarc – now owned by Google – have stepped down a little more than one year after Google acquired it, the search giant confirmed on Friday. A Google spokesman declined to comment on those claims or discuss why the Steelbergs left. Google began testing its Audio Ads program for radio, using the dMarc technology, late last year.

Intent MediaWorks to Distribute KOCH Music, Video Releases

Atlanta - Intent MediaWorks, a provider of licensed media content and advertising to websites, blogs and peer-to-peer file-sharing networks, announced on Wednesday that independent music distributor KOCH Entertainment has licensed its entire catalog for release through Intent's service. "For established talent, Intent eliminates issues related to licensing and content control. At the same time, Intent makes it possible for emerging independent artists to boost exposure and reach niche audiences," said Les Ottolenghi, CEO and co-founder of Intent MediaWorks.

Orb Networks, a provider of software and services designed to give users remote access to digital media stored on their PCs, has named Joe Costello, the company's co-founder and chairman, as its new CEO. Costello also currently serves as the chairman of think3, and was previously the president and CEO of Cadence Design Systems for more than a decade.

Intent MediaWorks Raises $1.2 Million in First Round

Atlanta - Intent MediaWorks Inc., an Atlanta-based digital media distribution company, has raised $1.2 million in its first round of venture capital, Private Equity Week reported on Wednesday, citing a regulatory filing. Investors in the deal include Menemsha Capital Partners and IMW Partners, the report said. Founded in October 2003, Intent MediaWorks offers technology that supports legal, secure file trading, "turning each file into a marketing tool for the copyright owner." The company's technology is designed to work with major Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file-trading networks, web-based communities as well as email and RSS.

Mediaguide, Intent MediaWorks Team on P2P Download Reporting

New York - Mediaguide, a provider of digital fingerprinting technology, and Intent MediaWorks, a distributor of licensed music on peer-to-peer networks, announced on Tuesday that they have partnered to combine tracking and reporting of music from on-air and online radio broadcasts with legal peer-to-peer music downloads. Mediaguide will identify songs uploaded to the Intent system, and block downloads of non-licensed songs. It will also add data on legally downloaded tracks to the reporting it shares with Radiowave Airplay Monitor, which tracks Internet radio.

Intent MediaWorks Enters Targeted P2P Advertising Business

Atlanta -- Intent MediaWorks, a provider of technology for the distribution of multimedia content over legal peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, has signed an agreement with New York-based AlmondNet that will allow Intent MediaWorks to use AlmondNet's behavioral targeting technology. The technology integration agreement will allow Intent to deliver targeted interactive ads, the companies said. Intent's technology offers recording artists and music companies the ability to distribute their digital content securely through major P2P systems, including Kazaa, Gnutella, and BitTorrent networks. "With our agreement with AlmondNet, we can offer our users relevant ads while downloading safe, free and legal music or video files," said Les Ottolenghi, CEO of Intent MediaWorks.
