New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) MTV Networks said on Wednesday that it has partnered with mobile social networking firm Intercasting, to develop a mobile social network around MTV Tr3s, the company's Latino youth channel. The Con3xion mobile social network will allow users to view photos, send and receive messages, post comments,  and search profiles on their phones. MTV said that Con3xion will be expanded to the Web in the near future, and that it plans to work with Intercasting to develop mobile social networks for other MTV properties.

San Diego - Intercasting Corp., a provider of mobile social networking technology, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $12 million in its second round of venture capital financing, led by Venrock Associates.

London - U.K. mobile network operator 3 UK announced that it has partnered with San Diego-based Intercasting to provide its 3.75 million subscribers with access to social networks including LiveJournal, Xanga, Vox and BlackPlanet from their mobile phones. "Users will get a social networking experience tailored for the data and media capabilities of their phones, helping to drive adoption and repeat usage over the 3 network," said Rob Wells, head of mobile broadband at 3 UK.
