Stockholm, Sweden - Spotify, an ad-supported streaming music service with around 4 million users in Europe, has announced a deal to add 2 million new tracks to its service through an agreement with independent digital music distributor IODA. The company recently said it plans to launch in the U.S., and also has applications for the iPhone and Android platforms on the way.

Sony Music, RED in Talks With IODA for Distribution, Marketing

The proposed deal reportedly centers on use of IODA's Rightsholder Dashboard, an online tool that artists, managers and labels can use to track sales and related data.

MySpace Music Adds IODA Indie Catalog of 1 Million Songs

Berlin - IODA, a digital distributor of independent label music, announced this week the launch of IODA Nordic through a partnership with Bonnier Amigo Music Group. Under the terms, IODA will distribute Bonnier Amigo's catalog of independent music and labels through its international network of online and mobile partners. The companies will also jointly provide marketing support for their large catalog to local retail partners in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Telefonica to Distribute IODA Music Catalog in 24 Countries

Barcelona, Spain - Independent digital music distributor IODA on Tuesday announced a deal with Telefonica, that will see the Spain-based telecom make the IODA catalog of over 1 million tracks available to its subscribers in 24 countries. IODA tracks will be offered as ringtones, mastertones and full-track downloads, and will also be available on Telefonica's mobile music subscription services.

Microsoft Pays "Zune Bonus" to Indie Digital Distributors

Los Angeles - Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) recently doled out one-time bonus checks to independent digital music distributors including The Orchard (NASD: ORCD) and IODA, apparently to balance out the reported $1 per Zune sold it has granted to major labels including Universal Music Group, Hypebot reported. Both distributors plan to share the revenue with their label and artist partners.

San Francisco - Digital music distributor IODA is set to announce tomorrow the launch of IODA Label Stores, a white label download storefront that will allow labels and artists to sell digital music directly to consumers. The company partnered with DownloadCentric on the offering, which at launch will be used by partners including Six Degrees Records, Paper Bag Records, Om Records, ABB Records, Birdman Records, and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. IODA said it will eventually also offer customizable store widgets that can be embedded on any site.

San Francisco - IODA, a digital distributor of independent label music, said on Wednesday that it has partnered with Spectre Entertainment to launch Spectre Digital, a set of online promotional tools. Powered by San Francisco-based IODA's Promonet service, Spectre Digital will allow artists to securely service radio stations with single tracks, bundled songs or entire albums in digital format. Cupertino, Calif. - Confirming a report from yesterday, Apple on Wednesday announced that it has cut the price for DRM-free tracks at its iTunes Plus store from $1.29 to 99 cents, and expanded its catalog to include tracks from independent labels and distributors including Sub Pop, Beggars Group, IODA and The Orchard.
