MySpace Adds Indies Nettwerk, INgrooves to Music Service

Los Angeles - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace online social network announced on Thursday the addition of a number of independent music distributors to its nascent MySpace Music service. The deals with Nettwerk Music Group, INgrooves, IRIS Distribution and RoyaltyShare, along with Wind-up Records, will add several hundred thousand songs to the catalog available on MySpace Music.

Airborne to Offer Mobile Music Content From IRIS Distribution

San Francisco - Mobile entertainment publisher Airborne Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it has secured a deal with IRIS Distribution, to offer wallpapers, full tracks, music videos and other content from independent artists for download to mobile devices. IRIS-distributed labels include K Records, Kranky, NinjaTune and Preservation Hall.

New York - Lime Wire, the company that distributes the LimeWire peer-to-peer file-sharing application, has announced plans to open a digital music store.
