Wippit Makes Rare Beatles Footage Available Online

London - Wippit, a U.K.-based digital download service, has secured the rights to offer a range of rare Beatles interviews and other news appearances on its service in all regions -- except North America, the BBC reported. Provided by ITN, Reuters and Pathe, the selections include footage of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 "bed-in," the band meeting Queen Elizabeth, and Lennon's comment about the Beatles being "more popular than Jesus." Wippit will offer individual clips for about 95 cents, or in bundles starting at about $9.67.

ITN Networks Gets Investments from VSS, ZelnickMedia, Sony Pictures TV

New York - ITN Networks, a developer of custom-designed national television & multimedia networks, announced on Tuesday that it has raised an undisclosed sum through new investments from Veronix Suhler Stevenson (VSS), ZelnickMedia and Sony Pictures Television.

Blinkx to Create Video News Player for ITN

San Francisco - Blinkx, the operator of a searchable index of Web video, announced on Wednesday that it has been hired by news organization ITN to develop the company's official ITN player, and make ITN news searchable through the Blinkx index. Over 80 ITN news clips will be indexed on Blinkx each week, and will be available both from Blinkx.tv search results and on ITN.co.uk through Blinkx's DirectPlay service. San Francisco-based Blinkx added that it partnered with online rich media advertising provider Eyeblaster to insert advertising into all searchable ITN content, revenue from which will be shared by Blinkx and ITN.
