Columbia, Md. - iBiquity Digital, the developer of HD Radio technology that lets radio stations transmit a digital signal alongside their analog signals, has announced the availability of the first HD Radio receivers to support "iTunes Tagging," which allow users to tag songs they hear on the air for later purchase from Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iTunes Store. The Polk Audio I-Sonic Entertainment System 2 is available from today at Apple Stores and on Apple.com, and will also be sold at Best Buy this summer. Alpine, JBL and Sony have also announced that they will incorporate the technology in upcoming radios. Bellevue, Wash. - Jump2Go said on Tuesday that it is the sole provider of technology that will let HD Radio owners tag songs they hear for later purchase from Apple's iTunes Store. Columbia, Md. - iBiquity Digital, developer of HD Radio technology that lets broadcasters transmit a digital signal alongside their analog signals, this week announced a new feature for HD Radio receivers, iTunes Tagging, that lets listeners tag songs they hear on FM radio for later purchase from the iTunes Store. The company said that several major broadcasters, including Clear Channel, will implement iTunes Tagging initially across hundreds of stations.
