Jaman Adds E1 Entertainment Titles to Web VOD Service

San Mateo, Calif. - Jaman.com, an online video-on-demand service said on Wednesday that it has added nearly 3,000 new titles to its service through a deal with independent video distributor E1 Entertainment. The deal will see films from French New Wave directors like Demy and Godard, as well as classic U.S. TV shows featuring Laurel & Hardy, Andy Griffith and Lucille Ball added to Jaman.

Alviso, Calif. - TiVo (NASD: TIVO) announced on Thursday that it has added the ability for subscribers to download a range of foreign and independent films from Internet movie service Jaman.com. Some titles will be free, while others will be available to rent or purchase starting at $1.99. Titles include Oscar nominees "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" and "Supersize Me."

TiVo Adds Indie, Intl. Films from Jaman to Broadband Offering

Alviso, Calif. - TiVo (NASD: TIVO) announced on Thursday that it will add thousands of independent and international film titles from Web distributor Jaman to the offering on its network for owners of broadband-connected digital video recorders. TiVo viewers will be able to both rent and purchase films starting at $1.99.

Jaman and The New Global Niche

I2m_jaman2 Ethnicity has always been an appealing niche for foreign language newspapers and magazines to local cable television programs.  Restaurants, churches and temples are all centers for exploring global cultures in the real world.  Yet on the Internet, the most successful ethnically focused sites seem to be the online dating sites such as Shaadi.com, JDate and Corazones.com - as well as online communities targeting ethnicities for networking.  The problem with this is that most of these sites are not inviting others outside a particular ethnicity to interact and learn about a culture.
