We issued a news release today on the most searched for celebrities in the UK. Daniel Craig came in at #2 on the list (behind Faith Brown, contestant on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here). In putting together the release, we noticed that searches for "james bond" had overtaken searches for "borat" and perennial favourite "harry potter" in the week of the release of Casino Royale.

Reston, Va. - Cinea, a unit of Dolby Laboratories that develops content protection technologies for the movie and TV industries, announced on Monday that EON Productions used its technology to encrypt and securely distribute digital dailies during production of its upcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale."

Santa Monica, Calif. - Video game publisher Activision announced on Wednesday that it has been awarded a license from MGM and EON Productions to develop and publish video games based on the James Bond film franchise through the year 2014. The license was previously held by rival Electronic Arts, which has generated sales of 30 million units of its James Bond 007 titles. "Activision's proven expertise in developing cutting edge games, their core competency in managing large movie franchises combined with the global appeal of the James Bond property, will create a new benchmark for the next-generation gaming experience," said MGM executive vice president Travis Rutherford.

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts on Tuesday shipped its "From Russia With Love" title for Sony PSP to retailers. The game is the first of EA's series based on the James Bond film franchise to be developed for the PSP.
