Jennifer Hudson signs on for Film Version of Sex & the City

The MovieThe Oscar-winning actress of Dreamgirls and American Idol fame has joined the cast of Sex & the City: The Movie.  The 25-year-old Hudson will reportedly play the assistant of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the New Line film.  Though final negotiations about her role are still taking place, the film is scheduled to begin shooting on September 19th New York.

Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy Win SAG Awards, Safe Oscar Bets

Dreamgirls newcomer Jennifer Hudson and old-timer Eddie Murphy each won a SAG award on Sunday night, making it ever more likely they both will take home Oscars in February. Eddie Murphy also took the opportunity to reflect a little on the nature of these Hollywood award shows and which movies and actors they celebrate.
