Jive RecordsBritney Spears Back at No. 1 with ‘Blackout’Authored by Scott Goldberg on November 6, 2007 - 5:01am.
According to Fox News, Britney Spears’s new album Blackout will finish its first week at No. 1 on the charts. Though citing no exact research, the article estimates that the new album sold between 325,000 and 350,000 units. If the numbers hold when Nielsen SoundScan releases its weekly results tomorrow, it would be a rather unimpressive week of sales for a No. 1 album compared to others this year.

Denver - The best-selling ringtone of 2007 to date is "Buy U a Drank" by R&B artist T-Pain, which has sold over 2.3 million units, Billboard reported, citing data from Nielsen RingScan. That figure is nearly double the 1.6 million digital downloads of the song that have been sold, and far outnumbers the 686,000 copies of the album, "Epiphany," from which the single comes.
Track List and Cover Art Released for Britney Spears’s BlackoutAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 12, 2007 - 6:21am.
What does an album’s cover art and track list tell you about the music? Absolutely nothing. But in the case of Britney Spears and her new album Blackout, both are amusing if only because of the role they play in the larger context of her life. Take the album’s title, for instance. Blackout. A curious and interesting choice. What, exactly, does it mean? The only time we tend to hear the term nowadays is when referencing a state of inebriation in which one remembers not a thing – a blackout. Is that the intention?
Britney Spears New Album "Blackout" Moves Up to October 30Authored by Scott Goldberg on October 10, 2007 - 7:40am.
Citing the amount of “leaked” songs for Britney Spears’ new album titled Blackout (no pun is believed to be intended), her label, Jive Records, has bumped the launch date to October 30th, two weeks ahead of the original November 13th release. Said a label spokesperson, "Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30."

Analysis: Is Britney Spears’ Career Over After the MTV Disaster?Authored by Jay Baage on September 9, 2007 - 11:41pm.
Britney Spears’ long-time fans were looking forward to her come-back performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards yesterday. Many music biz executives from her label Jive were probably also watching to see if she “still has it.” In short, I’m sorry to say, the answers seems to be no. If you don’t believe me, take a look at her performance here.
MTV Confirms Britney Spears VMA PerformanceAuthored by Scott Goldberg on September 6, 2007 - 7:29am.
Here’s a quick reason to watch MTV’s Video Music Awards on September 9: Britney Spears will perform the new single Gimme More, and her mere presence virtually guarantees something absurd is going to happen. Speculation about the song’s legitimacy came into question when it was “leaked” last week after playing on Z100 in New York. But everyone knew better. “It’s Britney, bitch,” she told us. Yes it is.
New Britney Spears Song Officially Leaked, Album out Nov 13Authored by Scott Goldberg on August 31, 2007 - 6:38am.
Yesterday we reported that two new songs by Britney Spears had been leaked following air time on New York radio station Z100. It turns out only one was authentic. As a reader wrote about Gimme More, the supposed “official” single, “The same line over and over: ‘Gimmee, Gimme, Gimmee.’ How redundantly boring? That could have been anyone on that track.” Maybe you’re right, my friend. But a Jive Records spokesperson said, “The track that leaked is off of Britney Spears's forthcoming album. The song is ‘Gimme More,’ produced by Danja, (and is) written by Nathaniel ‘Danjahands’ Hills, James Washington, Keri Hilson, Marcella Araica.” Who knew so many cooks were needed to create song? Guess you have to make it crazy-proof, so God bless 'em! You can listen to the song here.Justin Timberlake Music Video Fastest Selling Ever on iTunesAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on February 20, 2007 - 5:04pm.
