Kid Cell Phone Service Kajeet Gets $10 Million in Debt Financing

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, the operator of a pay-as-you-go cell phone service aimed at kids ages 8-14, said that it has received $10 million in debt financing from Chicago-based BlueCrest Capital Finance.

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, a pay-as-you-go mobile phone service for kids, announced on Monday that it has added Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS) mobile games to its offering. Under the deal, EA Mobile titles including "Tetris," "Need for Speed Pro Street," "Madden NFL 08" and "Skate" will be made available for purchase through Kajeet.

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, the provider of a pay-as-you-go mobile network for kids and their parents, has raised $36.8 million in its second round of financing, led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson Growth Fund, VentureWire reported.

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, a provider of cell phone service for children between the ages of 8 and 14, announced on Wednesday a strategic partnership with Nickelodeon. Under the deal, kajeet will offer customers mobile content -- including downloadable ringtones, wallpapers, and games -- from Nickelodeon shows including "Rugrats" and "SpongeBob SquarePants." Kajeet announced last year that it had raised $27 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Gabriel Venture Partners, InterWest Partners and FidelityVentures.

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, the provider of mobile services for "tweens," announced on Wednesday the launch of its service -- a pay-as-you-go wireless service aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 14. The company said the service -- which operates on the Sprint Nextel network -- has begun rolling out, and will be available nationwide in Best Buy stores by May 1, and at Limited Too stores in early April. The company last year announced that it had raised $27 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Gabriel Venture Partners, InterWest Partners, and FidelityVentures.

Bethesda, Md. - Kajeet, a cell phone service designed specially for "tweens," confirmed on Monday that it has raised $27 million in venture capital financing. Tweens are a marketing term for children between the ages of 8 and 14. The investors were Bessemer Venture Partners, Gabriel Venture Partners, InterWest Partners, and FidelityVentures. The company was co-founded by Daniel Neal, the former CEO of VCampus Corp; Matthew D. Baker, co-founder of STSN, and Ben Weintraub, former COO and co-founder of SimplyWireless.com. "With Kajeet, I'm helping to build the mobile devices and services I want my own daughter -- and her parents -- to have," said Neal.
