Larry King to Interview Dr. Jan Adams TuesdayAuthored by Scott Goldberg on November 19, 2007 - 6:16am.
Dr. Jan Adams, the man currently being held responsible for the death of hip-hop star Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, will plead his case tomorrow on Larry King Live, TMZ reports. His case is especially interesting and tragic because of the allegedly poor track record that has gone largely unnoticed. Adams has appeared on many nationally televised shows like Oprah, and somehow never been exposed until now. Citing the amount of “leaked” songs for Britney Spears’ new album titled Blackout (no pun is believed to be intended), her label, Jive Records, has bumped the launch date to October 30th, two weeks ahead of the original November 13th release. Said a label spokesperson, "Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30."

New York - Hip-hop artist Kanye West's third album "Graduation" has established a new one-week digital sales record, logging over 132,000 album downloads in the week following its release on Sept. 11. The album broke the previous record of 102,000 first-week digital album sales, set earlier this year by Maroon 5. Kanye's album also debuted at #1 on Billboard's charts, racking up nearly 957,000 physical unit sales. Kanye West Beats 50 Cent on First Week Album SalesAuthored by Scott Goldberg on September 19, 2007 - 6:33am.
Nielsen SoundScan released its weekly report today, and Kanye West sold more albums in the first week of his new release, Graduation, than anyone has in 2.5 years. He has sold 957,000 copies since the album’s release last Tuesday, the highest total since 50 Cent’s March 2005 The Massacre, which sold 1.1 million copies its first week. West’s album dominated the battle with 50 Cent, who released a new album, Curtis, on the same day. His album has only sold 691,000 copies in its first week.
Kanye West Bashes MTV Again, this time on EllenAuthored by Scott Goldberg on September 14, 2007 - 11:16am.
The man is angry right now. Really, really angry. And forget about the album he released on Tuesday, which sold around 430,000 copies its first, well ahead of 50 Cent who also released an album that day. West is feeling really sensitive right now, and MTV is the culprit. "[MTV] didn't give me the opportunity to rock the way I wanted to rock," he said on Ellen DeGeneres’s show Ellen. He said his five VMA nominations without any trophies to show for it was a "slap in the face." Kanye West is not a sore loser. Believe that.

After the Video Music Awards last Sunday, Kanye West said he felt “betrayed” by MTV on New York radio station Z100, and launched complaints about the unfair treatment the network showed its most infamous act, Britney Spears. “They exploited Britney in helping her to end her career,” he said (you can listen to the interview here). He also complained about the venue for his performance at the VMAs (the Palms Casino luxury suite as opposed to the main stage), and declared he was finished working with MTV (a more R-rated version of his complaints backstage at the VMAs can be seen here).
Kanye West says MTV Exploited Him & Britney Spears at VMAsAuthored by Scott Goldberg on September 10, 2007 - 1:47pm.
The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards was one to remember, we already know. And today Kanye West stoked the fire, saying on New York’s Z100 that MTV “exploited” him and Britney Spears. Who says cat fights are relegated to women and high schoolers? “They exploited Britney in helping her to end her career,” he said on the show. So Kanye, if she wanted to end her career anyway, wouldn’t you say MTV did her a favor? You can listen to the interview here.
