San Mateo, Calif. - Limbo 41414 on Wednesday announced the launch of its Limbo Auction beta site, a hybrid of a mobile game, an auction and a sweepstakes. The company essentially raffles off prizes like Hummer H3's and NCAA Final Four tickets to players who place "bids" via text message or online; the winner is the person making the lowest bid that no other player makes. For instance, the recent winner of a $3,000 plasma-screen TV bid $3.25; each bid also wins "loot," which can be redeemed for goods in the Limbo store. San Mateo, Calif.-based Limbo 41414 is backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Azure Capital Partners.
