Six Apart Sells LiveJournal Blog Network to Russia's SUP

San Francisco - Six Apart, a provider of blogging software and services and operator of the LiveJournal network of blogs, has announced a sale of LiveJournal to Russian media firm SUP. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

London - U.K. mobile network operator 3 UK announced that it has partnered with San Diego-based Intercasting to provide its 3.75 million subscribers with access to social networks including LiveJournal, Xanga, Vox and BlackPlanet from their mobile phones. "Users will get a social networking experience tailored for the data and media capabilities of their phones, helping to drive adoption and repeat usage over the 3 network," said Rob Wells, head of mobile broadband at 3 UK.

Six Apart Adds 33 Widgets to BlogLiveJournal Blogging Software

San Francisco - Six Apart, a provider of blogging software and services under the LiveJournal brand, said on Thursday that it has launched 33 new "widgets" capable of putting new interactive features into blogs. Some of the features include job searching, game playing, weather tracking and photo sharing. A widget is a little piece of content or functionality developed by a third party that can be installed on the siderail of a blog.
