San Diego - Sony Electronics announced on Wednesday that it has added the handheld Sony PSP to the list of devices supporting its LocationFree system, which allows users to access their own subscription TV channels, DVDs, and recorded TV content over a wireless home network, and remotely on a laptop via a broadband connection. The $350 LocationFree Player Pak includes a base station that connects to a set-top TV tuner, DVD player and digital video recorder. The PSP can now also be enabled to access LocationFree content from Wi-Fi hot spots, by installing Sony's firmware 2.5 upgrade for the video game device.
