London - A couple who said they have never played a computer game in their lives has been accused of illegal file-sharing by attorneys representing video game publisher Atari, the BBC reports, citing Which? Computing magazine.

London - A group of video game publishers that includes Atari and Codemasters is preparing to launch a legal campaign against illegal downloading in the U.K., similar to the route taken by the RIAA in the U.S. The London-based law firm of Davenport Lyons intends to send the same type of "pre-litigation settlement letters" employed by the RIAA to 25,000 suspected game file-swappers in the U.K., giving them the opportunity to pay 300 pounds ($558.36) to avoid a lawsuit.

Los Angeles - An Italian government body responsible for privacy protection has ruled that an anti-piracy firm breached the country's privacy laws when it gathered the IP addresses of Italians suspected of illegal file-sharing, according to reports. The Garante della Privacy said that an earlier ruling by an Italian magistrate authorizing Swiss anti-piracy firm Logistep to collect IP addresses of P2P users was incorrect.
