Los Angeles - News Corp.'s MySpace said on Thursday that it has arranged an exclusive deal to host the season one finale of the LonelyGirl15 interactive online drama on its MySpaceTV site. Beginning on Friday, a new segment of the LonelyGirl15 season finale will be posted on MySpaceTV every hour over the course of 12 consecutive hours. Additionally, archived episodes from the first season are also now available on MySpaceTV. The producers of the show said it has garnered 250,000 - 300,000 views per episode. London - U.K.-based social network Bebo on Monday announced the launch of "KateModern," an original Web series spun-off by the producers of the "Lonelygirl15" video blog. The series was commissioned by Bebo, and will screen exclusively for its 8.8 million U.K. users before later being added to YouTube and other sites. The cute little girl who wasn’t actually from New Zealand was just another struggling actress trying to become a star. It put her on the map as her name and image donned major publications like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. It could be argued, in fact, that LonelyGirl15 is the Michael Jordan of YouTube. What does that mean, exactly? I have no idea. But somehow, strangely, it makes sense.

One of the first Internet video stars, Jessica Lee Rose also known as LonelyGirl15, is breaking into Hollywood. Well, she has been on numerous magazine covers already and got an agent at CAA, but this is her first role in a traditional movie - I Know Who Killed Me - opposite Lindsay Lohan. So is the Internet the new breeding ground for Hollywood stars or is it just another person cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame? I guess we have to stay tuned.
